Are You Overwhelmed With Caring For Your Clients?
Donna Bond Thought Field Therapy in Partnership with Self-Care First Ltd
As Carers and First Responders we operate in many professions and use a wide range of skills and techniques. What binds us as a group is our passion for helping others.
Yet, this capacity for compassion, along with the intensity of the work and consistent exposure to primary trauma can, at times, leave us vulnerable to compassion fatigue, sometimes referred to as secondary trauma.
Left unrecognised and/or untreated, compassion fatigue can lead to personal stress, harm to our own self-worth, relationships and health, drink and drug abuse, self-harm and sometimes the decision to leave the caring profession altogether.
Compassion fatigue is equally a danger to our clients. If we are unable to function effectively we in turn place them at risk.
However, compassion fatigue is treatable, and, more importantly, it is preventable. Early recognition and awareness is key to building the necessary resiliance.
Learning about compassion fatigue, how to self-test for the signs, how to implement self-care techniques to eliminate it and build resiliance are the objectives of our 1 day Compassion Fatigue Self Care course.
Our 2 day Compassion Fatigue Educator course extends this knowledge and know-how and leads to accreditation by the Academy of Traumatology.
Our courses are organised to ensure you have the most appropriate environment and the best possible conditions for learning. Your ability to concentrate on the course and get the most from it is our number one priority.
You will be able to use your new skills immediately and in order to achieve this there is plenty of practice time built into our courses.
We pride ourselves on the fun our participants have and the high level of competence they gain in the time they are with us.
We offer full certification for each course. Our Compassion Fatigue Educator course offers accreditation by the Academy of Traumatology.
